The grooved boards

The layout of the pipes in the organ is not dictated by the order of the wind chest, but instead for ease of access and logical progression. A complex network of routed wind channels allows the air to supply the pipes in their chosen position. Some of the pieces are stepped to align the upper parts of the pipes to allow ease of access. All the pipes follow in chromatic order in groups allowing the tuner to find the next pipe easily. This construction technique makes my instruments very easy to tune even by someone who is not an organ builder.
